JCTEA established the Cable Television Engineer Certification system in 1983 and has been issuring certification for 20,000 engineers. Those qualifications can be acquired through training seminars and examinations conducted by JCTEA.
Considering the emergence of digital broadcasting and communication espeially broadband service through cable, JCTEA renewed the certification system in 2011, and new CATV Engineer Certification system was established.
CATV Comprehensive Management Professional Engineer
CATV Comprehensive Management Professional Engineers is qualified for mastering the comprehensive level of knowledge of managing, designing, installation and maintenance of CATV facilities in overall areas. The Engineers are supposed to learn specific three fields of CATV technology ; 'CATV system', 'Construction and maintenance', 'Wireless system and Radio reception technology' and 'Broadband'. 'Rules and Regulations for CATV' is prerequisite for the qualification.
CATV Professional Engineer
